Students with disabilities, and who have accommodation needs, can contact the international coordinator at the faculty who will help you look at facilitation options at the institution you want to go to.
The services offered depend on the destination, but may for example apply to:
- Adapted housing
- Accessibility / access
- Alternative examination forms
- Audio books or other adapted study literature.
- Possibility for assistance.
Most educational institutions have a "special needs service" whom you can contact for more information about accommodation options.
For Erasmus + students
All educational institutions participating in Erasmus + are committed to facilitating people with special needs or disabilities. Through the Erasmus + program, additional funds are allocated when there is a need for facilitation of exchagne studies with partners in Europe. If you receive financial support in Norway that expires when you go on an exchange, the additional scholarship from Erasmus + will be able to cover up to 100% of these costs.
If you already receive funds from other public institutions such as NAV or Lånekassen, and these expire upon the start of your exchagne studies, the funds from Erasmus + will cover extra expenses that cannot be covered outside Norway. If you have facilitation needs and want to go on exchange, we recommend that you start planning early, preferably in consultation with the international coordinator at your faculty.
