There are three ways to access the full-text version of a document: through a database, or through Oria.
Access through a database
The padlock icon next to a database in the library's Databases and online resources overview indicates that the database isn't openly available outside of VIDs network. When you're off-campus, you can click the "Access from home"-link next to the database to access it. Use your Feide-credentials to log in if you're a student, or your VID-id and password if you're an employee (the same password used for logging on to your work computer). Once you've logged in to a database, you can access all other databases without having to log in anew.
To get off-campus access to databases that are part of Helsebiblioteket's subscriptions, you will need to create a personal user profile (page in Norwegian). This applies to the following databases: AMED, British Nursing Index, EMBASE, Medline, OTseeker, ProQuest, PsycARTICLES, PsycINFO and PubMed.
Access through Oria
When you've performed a search in Oria, click the "Available Online"-link under the wished-for article or book. In the next window, click the full-text link. To log in, use your Feide-credentials if you're a student. As an employee, use your VID-id and password (the same password used for logging on to your work computer). You don't have to log in again when opening subsequent documents, as long as your session is still active. The session will expire if you leave Oria.
NB! If you wish to renew your loans, place holds, or make borrowing requests from other libraries, you need to log in to "My account" in Oria, using your Feide-credentials.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the library at your campus.
Access through extension in Chrome
LibKey Nomad is an extension in Google Chrome that automatically locates and links to full text content for articles that you find online, provided they are included in the library's subscriptions or are available as open access.
Choose VID as institution after installation. After that, the extension will scan pages that you visit to see if the content is available in full text and, if that's the case, provide a direct link.
For user guidance, please refer to LibKey Nomad User Guide from the service's provider, Third Iron.
