Digital solutions for students
Canvas is the official online forum for students and lecturers at VID. Once you have signed up for your classes in studentweb, you will be given access to these classes in canvas where your lecturers will post important information, lectures, groupwork, etc. This is also a good place for topical discussions with fellow classmates.
Introduction video for canvas
This coming semester will be solved a bit different, so your schedules might vary. Every semester your lecturer will post the study plan for the coming semester in canvas. You should also be able to find your classes through timeedit. If anything is unclear regarding your schedule, contact your lecturer, they will be able to answer any questions regarding changes that might occur due to current events.
VID’s library has a big collection of online books, articles and other written work. Due to the restricted availability of the actual books, they have now made more books available online, and most of the literature needed for your courses should be available in the online library through your feide account. Also, the librarians at VID are very helpful and will be through e-mail for any requests, recommendations or questions.
Exams, computer and internet
For online classes and digital exams it is mandatory to have a computer and WIFI access. Online and digital exams will be submitted through Inspera Assesment using your Feide log-in. You also need to ensure that you are using one of the last versions of these network programs:

Student life and activities
It might be difficult to partake in the Norwegian student life and feel like a student in Norway when you are studying from your home country. This is something VID considers when planning the next semester. Therefore, we encourage you to join in on online lectures, do online group work and study with your fellow classmates to the greatest possible extent. Also, when there are online social activities in your study city, join in and see what Norwegians are up to outside of classes and the university.
In mid-August we will start to publish a series of short introduction video's to central staff and services at VID, to invite you to familiarize yourself with VID and to become part of our VID-family, even if you are not physically present on one of our campuses yet.
