The course introduces the PhD student to what it means to do a PhD in theology and religious studies in the context of VID Specialized University.
The course introduces the PhD student to what it means to do a PhD in theology and religious studies in the context of VID Specialized University.

The course has the following focus areas:
- Introduction to the PhD thesis genres, to the structure, aims and requirements of this PhD programme, and to the art of writing and publishing academic texts.
- Research ethics, with attention both to the individual PhD projects and to key documents in the national and international research ethical discourses.
- Information literacy, including training in the use of library resources and bibliographical management tools.
- Introduction to the PhD programme’s profile.

Teaching and compulsory activities
The course is offered as an intensive course week with with 3 days of lectures and seminars. Students are required to submit both pre-coursework and post-coursework.
Assessment
Post-course work: essay, 3000 words (+/- 10%) or a 15 minutes video presentation
