Jeromy Limbani

My full names are Rev. Fr. Limbani Jeromy Juttah, currently a teacher at an Anglican Theological College in Malawi, by the name Leonard Kamungu Theological College. I am a Systematic Theology Teacher but I also teach Africa Theology and New Testament Greek. I am an ordained Anglican Priest.

In 2014 a friend informed me of Diakonjemmet which led me to check the information on the internet. I got interested not only because at the time i badly needed an opportunity to further my studies, but also because being a Systematic Theologian, whose interest is in practicality of the faith, in Diakonia I found the missing link. I therefore submitted my application.

When I was admitted I was happy and studies progressed well.

International Week

However, I quickly noticed lack of meaningful interaction between native and international students. For me a relief came when a program was organized and we called it International Week whose aim was to foster interaction between native and international students.

Both Norwegian and International Students organized International Week. The program involved a kind of variety show and variety of food representing each of the countries of the participating students. We enjoyed and everyone did. It was a great success. I have attached some photos of that memorable day.

VID is a diverse community but I feel this was not fully realized when it comes to relationship between Norwegian and International students. I hope VID will encourage the native students to continue to make deliberate efforts to engage international students. This will go a great length to encourage and the students feel welcome and not feel like strangers.

In addition, VID must consider involving the International students in various programs like chapel programs. Our team was involved in leading prayers at the chapel which made us feel home even more.
